Why team check-ins go quiet
A survey is an interruption with a deadline. It arrives when somebody else decided to send it, asks a dozen questions, and describes the team on the day it closed. By the time the results are shared, the week they measured is a month gone. The next one arrives after people have learned that nothing obvious happened with the last.
The answers that do come in are careful. Everybody knows who reads the results, and "anonymous" in a team of six is a word, not a guarantee. So people answer the way they would answer the manager directly, which is the answer the survey was meant to get around. The quick alternatives have the same problem in miniature: a round of "how's everyone doing?" in the team chat gets a column of thumbs up. There is more on why in why everyone says "fine".
What weathr does
One tap, whenever it changes. Each person picks one of five symbols (sun, sun and cloud, cloud, rain, storm) at one of four levels. There is no form, no schedule and no reminder campaign to run.
A standing reading, not a snapshot. A mood stands until the person replaces it. Every half hour weathr adds the team's moods together and draws them as a sky with a temperature and a trend, so the reading is always this week's rather than last quarter's. As moods age, the sky draws the signal weaker, so a team that stopped tapping reads as quiet rather than content.
The team reads it together. One person, one voice, whatever their title. There is no private dashboard and no manager's version. The person who set up the channel sees exactly what everyone else in it sees.
Blind by default. A cast hides who it was unless the person chooses otherwise. The mood still counts. Words can go with a public cast, and members can write short signed posts on a day or a week when something needs saying.
You can look back. The channel keeps a timeline in half hours, hours, days and weeks, sealed and never rewritten. "It has been raining since the reorg" is something the team can see.
What it doesn't do
No reports, exports, per-person tracking or scores. That is deliberate, not a roadmap gap. The moment a reading turns into a number somebody above the team is judged on, the taps behind it start being careful again.
No corporate admin yet. There is no admin console, single sign-on, billing or HR integration. A team uses an ordinary channel. The owner decides who is a member, whose mood counts, and who is a watcher, who reads without being counted. But there is no seat that only watches: keeping the sky moving is paid for the same way by everybody, by saying how you are.
It won't tell you why. weathr shows that a team is stormy, not the reason. And in a team of four, blind hides little. The reading is where a conversation starts, not a replacement for it. It works in a browser today; the Android app with a home-screen widget is being built.

What is a quick way to check how a team is feeling?
Replace the question with a standing reading. In a weathr channel each person says how they are with one tap, one of five weather symbols, and the team is drawn as a sky that updates every half hour. A mood stands until it changes, so nobody has to answer on a schedule.
Can a manager see each person's answer or get a report?
No. weathr has no reports, exports, per-person tracking or scores, by design. Everyone in the channel reads the same weather. People who cast publicly show their mood beside their name to everyone; people who cast blind show their mood without it, to everyone including the owner.
Does weathr help with survey fatigue?
It asks for one tap rather than a form, and it asks only when your mood changes or when you want the team's sky to keep moving. There are no questions to write, no campaign to send and no results to wait for.
